摘要

Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) are spaces designed to educate studentsremotely via online platforms. Although traditional VLEs such as iSocial haveshown promise in educating students, they offer limited immersion thatdiminishes learning effectiveness. This paper outlines a virtual realitylearning environment (VRLE) over a high-speed network, which promoteseducational effectiveness and efficiency via our creation of flexible contentand infrastructure which meet established VLE standards with improvedimmersion. This paper further describes our implementation of multiple learningmodules developed in High Fidelity, a "social VR" platform. Our experimentresults show that the VR mode of content delivery better stimulates thegeneralization of lessons to the real world than non-VR lessons and providesimproved immersion when compared to an equivalent desktop version.
